two videos, again, today.

first is amanda palmer, from the dresden dolls (a way cool band, if you've never checked them out, you should). the video is from amanda's youtube site, the song and video are dedicated to sarah palin.
damn. what an hysterically brilliant video. words like acerbic, sarcastic, scathing come to mind, or maybe just fucking funny will do.

second video is, keeping in line with yesterday's blog about screaming metal and today's theme on girls, a band called my ruin, the song is called ready for blood. the singer here is tairrie b. from what i've gathered, she started her musical career as a hip hop artist. go figure.

a couple of years ago she was in a terrible car accident and nearly lost her arm. she has a vlog on their youtube page (the link i've posted) with footage of her recovery process.









i found a great site recently, wears the trousers magazine, dedicated to women in music. both of the artists i have posted above i got to from this website.

and today's musical inspiration is from my friend monica. i had breakfast with her this morning. monica is, i suppose, my best friend. she is also one of the very few girlfriends i have. we've known each other for 24 years, a long damn time.

monica is one of the strongest people i have ever known. and, no, i don't mean physical strength (really, now). a single mom who managed to hold it together, raise two kids, and get a masters degree in nursing. she deserves the world. and she deserves respect. like all of us, really.
