a couple of videos from a band called empire dogs, out of stockholm, sweden.
i can't find a lot of info on them. their website is down at the moment, though they do have a myspace profile. happy, poppy, retro sounding kinda stuff. not going to blow your mind, but they sure are fun to listen to.
this week seems to have dragged on. something about november, it seems to take forever to get through it. maybe it's anticipation of the upcoming holidays, i don't know.
i think i'll dedicate today's videos to the wing-nut at the corner convenience store.
i go to this store every day. really, to buy smokes, usually. i've lived in the same place for 8 years, small town, so this little store is very familiar to me. and i tend to linger when i'm there and chat with the employees. i started talking with one of the new guys. he seemed nice enough.
a few nights ago my daughters' friends stopped by and told me that they had just come from the store and this guy, this employee, told them that he thinks i like him and that he thinks i might ask him out.
upon hearing this, my daughters and i simultaneously made that sound: eeewwww... (funny, all of us at once.) but, really, this guy... i don't think so.
my point here is that these girls to whom he imparted this information are thirteen years old. and i just really don't think it was an appropriate conversation for him to be having with kids. especially kids who are friends with my daughters. what the hell was he thinking?
i mentioned it next day to my favorite of the store's employees. and she must have said something, because last night when i ran up to the store, dude was completely non-communicative with me.
i feel bad, kind of, sort of, well, maybe not really. but i'll give him today's blog post, just to be nice.
